Chairman’s Report
Mr Steve Edwards, Earith Parish Council Chairman would like to welcome you all to the Parish Council website. Do you have any village photographs that you would like to be featured on the website or in the Earith Echo.
If you have any photographs that you would like to see published on the Website then please pass these to the Clerk for inclusion. It is hoped that you will find more information regarding events in the village and that you will be able to find out Village News as it happens by reading the quarterly village magazine “The Earith Echo” which is hand delivered by volunteers to all homes in the Village.
The Pond adjacent to the play area now features a floating duck house and new water features installed by Village residents. Village volunteers look after the Pond and play area and make sure that it looks its best all year round. However, there is also a problem with inconsiderate dog owners not picking up after their pets in this area. Please remove your dog waste from this park as it is a play area for under 8’s who should not be exposed to dog waste. There is a bin at the entrance to the park that dog waste can be placed in so please use this to remove your animal droppings.
Speeding is an ongoing issue in the Village especially along the High Street and the Parish Council are very pleased that a new group of village residents have formed a new Speedwatch Group so that vehicle speed can be measured and reported to the Police for action. The Police are the only authority that can take action against speeding and dangerous driving and any incidents of this nature should immediately be reported to the Police using the non emergency number 101. More information concerning Speedwatch can be obtained via the Clerk or directly from Speedwatch.
Parish Council meetings are open to all Earith residents and there is always an open section whereby you can raise any comments or concerns that you would like the Parish Council to look into. The meetings are always on the first Thursday of each month (unless there are any elections taking place) and begin at 7.30pm. The Open Forum is at the beginning of the meeting but residents are encouraged to stay and listen to the Councils decision if they are interested in any items on the agenda. You are free to leave at any time and do not have to stay until the end.
Thank you for visiting the Parish Council website.
